Mouse Position Effect On Arm


Mouse use is a fact of life and there is no way to avoid it. Most users will experience some discomfort and injury from using a mouse. Mousing discomfort is normally related to how you grip the mouse and placement of mouse. If your desk is too high you will be reaching up for the mouse greatly increasing stress on hand, arms and shoulders.


If you mouse is too low you greatly increase the stress on the wrist. It is generally recommended to place the mouse at the same level as your keyboard and to produce a straight or neutral arm position. Also learn how to reduce your grip, move the mouse with arm and not wrist only, and program the mouse. Programming the mouse is done with a software driver usually located in your control panels.
