Wrist Rest And The Ergonomic Standard

  Ergonomic Standards

Ergonomic standards are set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for Human Factors Engineering of Visual Display Terminal Workstations. The standards were set in 1988 and are going to be upgraded in the near future. OSHA uses these standards when they do an ergonomic or task evaluation of a company.

  Wrist Rests Ansi Ergonomic Standards

The ANSI standard for wrist rests suggests that the wrist should be at an angle of 0 to 15. Zero degrees has proven to be the healthiest because it permits the wrist to rest in a neutral position, taking pressure off the nerve that causes carpal tunnel injuries.
